Elegant Modern Hindu Wedding at Wildman BT in Chicago

Cultural traditions met modern style at Tamara and Rakesh’s Spring wedding at Wildman BT. It was a celebration that reflected their story, from the attire honoring their Indian and Western backgrounds to the ceremony, an abridged take on the traditional Hindu marriage ritual. Our team had the incredible honor of coordinating their wedding day!

Not only do we love working at Wildman BT, but we also had the opportunity to help this amazing couple fully relax into their celebration and savor every moment. We’re so excited to show the gorgeous details, all brought to life against a historic Chicago backdrop.

Planning a Seamless Wedding at Wildman BT

Tamara and Rakesh had a clear vision for their wedding day: understated elegance, with a simple black-and-white palette elevated by gilded accents. But planning from afar—the couple lives in Milwaukee—and balancing Tamara’s busy nursing school schedule presented a few challenges. That’s where Event Shoppe Chicago, and our Wedding Coordination package, came in.

We took over communication with the couple’s vendor team, refined every detail, and provided comprehensive behind-the-scenes support on the big day.

We’re so appreciative of—and honored by—Tamara’s trust in us! Like our founder, Jennifer Price, Tamara is a perfectionist. She knew exactly what she wanted the day to look like and placed an enormous amount of faith in us to make it happen. Seeing her fully enjoy her wedding day, knowing our team was taking care of every detail, made us incredibly proud.

Why We Love Weddings at Wildman BT

When Tamara and Rakesh told us that Wildman BT would be their wedding venue, we were thrilled. There’s a reason it’s one of our favorite wedding venues in Chicago. The industrial-chic space is filled with natural light, making it a dream to photograph. Even better, it’s incredibly versatile and can be configured to suit any couple’s aesthetic or vision (and you know how much we love a true-to-you event!).

The venue can be completely transformed with oversized floral installations, custom lighting, and draping, or left beautifully understated to showcase its historic character. Better yet? The owner, Michelle, is the real deal. She’s incredibly easy to work with and always takes the time to make couples feel heard and cared for.

Tamara and Rakesh embraced a simplified yet elegant approach to their reception décor. Black-and-white tabletop details felt timeless, while touches of gold in the candles and overhead lighting added a bit of Chicago-chic sophistication. The floral design, beautifully executed by Flowers for Dreams, featured a classic pairing of creamy white roses and abundant baby's breath.

Honoring Indian Heritage Through Wedding Attire

It was important to Tamara and Rakesh to celebrate their Indian heritage throughout their wedding day, beginning with their ceremony attire. They both wore beautiful, formal Indian ensembles. Rakesh chose an intricately embroidered sherwani with a rich brown base and gold detailing, while Tamara looked absolutely stunning in a traditional red-and-gold saree, complete with customary gold jewelry and floral garlands.

During cocktail hour, the couple changed into Western formal wear. Rakesh wore a white tuxedo, while Tamara changed into a long-sleeved gown featuring delicate lace sleeves and a satin skirt. We loved that this couple refused to put themselves—or their wedding day looks—into a box. They celebrated every facet of who they are, and that's exactly what we love to see.

What an unforgettable celebration at Wildman BT! From the deep cultural significance woven throughout the day to the timeless décor, this is one wedding we'll still be talking about for years to come.
