Chicago Cultural Center Wedding Inspired by Luxury Interiors

Once a Chicagoan, always a Chicagoan. Although Giselle and Jason now reside in Cleveland, they always knew they would tie the knot in the Windy City, where Giselle grew up. And quintessentially Chicago it was—beginning with a Catholic ceremony at St. Michael Catholic Church in Old Town, followed by a reception at the iconic Chicago Cultural Center. Their modern, Restoration Hardware–inspired vision came to life through our full-service planning experience. What an honor it was to be part of this incredible day!

A Chicago Cultural Center Wedding in the Heart of the City

With Chicago at their fingertips, Giselle and Jason had no shortage of venue options. They ultimately chose the Cultural Center for its unbeatable Michigan Avenue location and breathtaking architecture, most notably the stunning Tiffany Dome. Situated directly across from Millennium Park, it offers endless opportunities for city portraits. Whether you envision historic architecture, lush greenery, classic downtown streets—or a combination of all three—you’ll find it here.

Having planned multiple weddings at the Cultural Center, we guided the couple in creating an elevated guest experience at one of the city’s most sought-after venues. Our full-service package, inclusive of day-of coordination, ensured a seamless transition from their church ceremony to the reception. It was also deeply important to Giselle and Jason to hire Black vendors. We were proud to help them assemble a dream team of talented professionals who delivered excellence at every turn, from the design to the dining experience.

Modern Luxury Design with Statement Impact

Inspired by the clean, refined interiors of Restoration Hardware, Giselle and Jason wanted their wedding to feel like stepping into one of the retailer’s galleries. We partnered with Yanni Design Studio to refine their many ideas into one cohesive, elevated vision. From the large-scale tree installations that transformed the cocktail hour and the reception to the custom monogrammed bar, every design choice was intentional and impactful. The result was a space that felt personalized yet polished, and undeniably inviting.

Grace Under Pressure & Meaningful Moments

You never quite know what a wedding day will bring—which is why we intentionally build padding into every timeline. Not only does this keep the day from feeling rushed, but it also protects the experience when the unexpected (inevitably) happens.

On this particular afternoon, an unplanned protest along Michigan Avenue caused multiple street closures. Giselle and Jason were out taking portraits at the time and ultimately had to walk several blocks back to the venue in full wedding attire. Thankfully, the protesters were incredibly kind and helped them safely cross the street. Because we had built flexibility into the timeline, we were able to recover quickly and keep the celebration flowing.

Of course, one of our favorite parts of the day was the culture-rich celebration that unfolded on the dance floor. During college, Giselle was a member of a historically Black sorority, Alpha Kappa Alpha. Her sorority sisters surrounded her to perform the Sweetheart Song before taking a celebratory stroll. The energy in the room was electric! It was the perfect way to open the dance floor and honor sisterhood, legacy, and love.

Elevate Your Chicago Cultural Center Wedding Experience

We may be biased, but we can’t imagine a better place to begin married life than in the heart of Chicago. Giselle and Jason’s day was proof that thoughtful planning elevates both the design and the overall experience, even in the face of the unexpected.
